ATLANTA – Charleston Southern competed at the Yellow Jacket Invite this weekend with the men's 1500m crew having a tremendous showing. There is now a new pair of student-athletes that are on the school's all-time top ten list following the great runs from the group.
In the 100m,
Carl Murray IV recorded a time of 11.53 (10.529) in the event to take 8
th place overall in the field of nearly 100 runners. Murray also had a top ten finish in the 200m with a time of 21.54 in the field of over 60 runners.
Some of the top performances for the team came in the 1500 as there are now a pair of new times in the event for the Buccaneers.
Sam Waldin finished with a time of 3:49.86 to take 7
th overall in the school record books.
Conan Harper and
Jack McGahey both also had tremendous finishes in the race as they had times of 3:50.47 and 3:50.74. Harper's time now ranks as the 8
th fastest in school history.
This meet marked the final regular season meet for the Buccaneers. Charleston Southern will now look to prepare for the Big South Championships which are just over two weeks away. This year High Point University is playing host with the meet to take place from May 6-8.
