Charleston Southern Men's Throwers Complete Action at the Sharona Coleman-Singleton Classic

ORANGEBURG – Charleston Southern had their men's throwers compete in the Sharona-Coleman Singleton Classic on Saturday. The team put in many of their top performances of the season in a variety of events.
 
The day began with Aaron Pierce winning in the men's javelin. He threw a 62.29m (204' 4") which was just barely over a foot from his personal best throw in the event. Landry Polk took 4th with a best of 51.64m (169' 5").
 
Odin Ferency then recorded a personal best mark in the shot put in the next event for the men. He bumped his best throw up by nearly a full-foot-and-a-half with today's being a 15.66m (51' 4.5"). He recorded this on his final throw of the day after four consecutive fouls.
 
Ferency competed in the discus and got his to go 42 meters on his best attempt.
 
The Buccaneers will turn their attention to next weekend where they will have a trip to Atlanta, Georgia for the Yellow Jacket Invite. The Bucs will be contested from Friday, April 19 through Saturday, April 20. This is the team's final regular season meet for the season.
