COLUMBIA – Charleston Southern wrapped up their action at the Weems Baskin Invitational at the University of South Carolina on Saturday.
The Men's 4x400 relay squad had their best run of the season as they recorded a time of 3:15.68 in the race to take 8
th in the impressive field. The time ranks as 8
th in school history for the Bucs. The squad had
Charlie Easler,
Shawn Langley Jr.,
Carl Murray IV and
Luciano Custodio as part of the team.
Murray ran a personal best in the 200m to take 10
th overall in the field with his 21.53.
Custodio had a great run in the 400m hurdles, taking third in the event with his time of 52.24.
Charleston Southern's Wesley Haagstrom won the 5000 on Saturday with his time of 15:54.45. He raced away from the field on the final lap to seal his victory.
The Buccaneers are back in action next weekend with the team splitting up as they will be heading to Florida and N.C. State for meets from March 28 through March 30. Many of the team's top sprinters will be competing in the Florida Relays while the top distance guys will be at the Raleigh Relays.
