CHARLESTON, S.C.– The Charleston Southern volleyball team hits the road to South Carolina State to face off against the Bulldogs Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
 
The Buccaneers are currently on a five-game win streak after sweeping the field in the River City Rumble this past weekend. Senior Brooke Monssen is coming off being named MVP of the tournament while Caitlyn Michalski and Macey LaPorte earned spots on the All-Tournament Team. 
 
Carsyn Starr was named the Big South Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon after helping the Bucs go 4-0 during the third week of season play. She had 54 kills (3.86 per set) and nine blocks (1.62 per set). Starr began the week with 14 kills, a .313 hitting percentage and a pair of blocks in a sweep at home versus North Carolina A&T. She then continued to tack on double-digit kills in the next three wins, recording a season high 19 against Belmont while hitting .515. She tallied 14 kills and a .312 percentage against North Carolina A&T, and had 13 kills in wins over Jacksonville and Long Island. Starr also totaled nine blocks and 64.0 points in the four-match span.
