CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern volleyball freshman Brynn Minter has been named the Big South Player of the Week and unanimous Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Minter put together one of the most impressive weeks of her young collegiate career, totaling 52 kills, 14 service aces, 26 digs, a .305 hitting percentage and 65.0 total points across four matches.

The freshman opened the week with a standout performance at Duke, recording 10 kills and one service ace in three sets against the Blue Devils. She then returned to Charleston Southern for the Playa Bowls Invitational, where she earned Co-MVP and Best Freshman honors after leading the Bucs with a combined 42 kills, 13 service aces, 26 digs and 55.0 points across CSU's three weekend matches.

Minter's performance against The Citadel was particularly historic. She recorded a career-high 21 kills and seven service aces in a three-set victory over the Bulldogs. Her seven aces established a new Charleston Southern freshman record, while her 21 kills tied for the most by any Big South player in a single match last week. Her 18.0 points were also the most by any Big South player in a three-set match.

Through the week, Minter quickly emerged as one of the Big South's statistical leaders. She ranked third in the conference in kills per set and second in aces per set. She also ranked inside the conference's top 10 in hitting percentage, despite leading all Big South players in total attacks last week with 123.

Minter reached another milestone in just her ninth collegiate match, recording her 100th career kill. Her and team captain Faith Burch currently lead the Buccaneers with 117 kills each on the season.
