Eugenie Varet Claims First Career Big South Player of the Week Award

CHARLESTON – The Big South announced the winners of their weekly awards for Women's Golf on Thursday afternoon, selecting Charleston Southern's Eugenie Varet as the Golfer of the Week. This becomes the first of her career and the third different Buccaneer to claim the award this season.

Varet led the team this past week at the Daniel Island Invitational, hosted by the College of Charleston. She finished in a tie for 15th, shooting +2 across the three rounds with scores of 72, 74, 72. She moved up nine spots on the final day to shoot into the top 15 at it.

In total, Charleston Southern has won the award four times this school year. She joins Odette Font Garcia and Katie Stephens as winners of the award in 2024-25. Stephens claimed it back-to-back weeks in September while Font received it this past week after earning medalist honors at CSU's Rivertowne Invitational.

The Buccaneers will compete in their third tournament in as many weeks they will take part in the River Landing Classic hosted by UNC Wilmington. It will be held from Monday, March 3 through Tuesday, March 4.
