PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. - The
Charleston Southern women's golf team delivered a dominant performance to win the Battle at the Beach, finishing first in the 13-team field with a two-round total of 603 (+27). The tournament was hosted by Stonehill College and played at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club.
Katie Stephens led the way for the Buccaneers, capturing her second collegiate individual title and her second of the 2025-26 season. Stephens opened the tournament with an impressive 69 before closing with a 72 to finish at 141 (-3), the only golfer in the field to finish under par. Her opening-round 69 set the tone for the tournament and helped secure the individual championship.
Eugenie Varet also turned in a strong showing, finishing third overall with rounds of 75 and 76 to post a two-round total of 151 (+7).
Chayse Cool added a top-10 finish, tying for seventh after shooting rounds of 76 and 80 to finish at 156 (+12).
Summer Griffiths and IY Ibnu each tied for 14th place to round out the Buccaneers' lineup. Griffiths carded rounds of 75 and 85 to finish at 160 (+16), while Ibnu posted consistent rounds of 80 and 80 to also finish at 160 (+16).
As a team, Charleston Southern opened the tournament with a strong 295 in the first round before closing with a 308 to secure the tournament victory. This marks the second team title of the season after the Bucs took first place in the Fripp Island Intercollegiate back in November.
