WALLACE, N.C. - The Charleston Southern women's golf team competed in the River Landing Classic this week, placing sixth out of 11 teams at River Landing Golf Course hosted by UNC Wilmington. James Madison won the tournament with a total score of 881, while Elon came in second place with a score of 886.
Caroline Engelbredt was the best finisher for the Buccaneers. With a score of 221 (+5), she finished the tournament tied for eighth overall. She had a 74 in the first round, 75 in the second round and finished the tournament with a 72.
Eugenie Varet was the second-best finisher for the Bucs, placing 14
th overall in the tournament at +7 (223). Her personal best was in round two, where she had a score of 70.
Katie Stephens was third best for the Bucs, as she finished with a score of 232, which was good for 34
th in the tournament. She shot a 75 in the first two rounds while finishing the tournament with an 82.
Madison Freeman finished with a 234, and
Odette Font had a 239.
The Bucs will have a break until their next tournament, as they do not compete again until March 25, when they go to Kennesaw, GA to compete in the Pine Tree Intercollegiate.
