SAVANNAH, GA -
Eugenie Varet placed in the top five in the Southern Invitational this weekend, as the Charleston Southern women's golf team wrapped up the 2023-24 fall season with an eighth-place finish at the Savannah Golf Club.
Georgia Southern took home first place, while Western Kentucky was right behind them followed by Coastal Carolina. For the Bucs, Varet was the top finisher for the Bucs an overall score of 222 (+6). She had a 72-75-72 in her three rounds. Charleston Southern improved as the tournament went along, as they finished round one with a total score of 308. They wrapped up rounds two and three with a 302 and a 301.
Katie Stephens was the next best score for CSU, finishing just outside the top 10 with a score of 224 (+8). She had a 76 on the first day and 73 and 75 in rounds two and three.
Elise Verhoven scored +18 with a 77, 80 and 77 throughout the tournament, and
Odette Font finished +21, while
Madison Freeman finished +22.
For the Charleston Southern women's golf team, this concludes the fall season, as the 2024 spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
