HIGH POINT, N.C. – Charleston Southern freshman Jacob Moore won his flight and finished seventh overall in the discus to lead the Bucs at day two of the High Point VertKlasse Meeting.
Moore threw 43.94 meters to finish first in his flight, as the freshman from Oregon continued a strong rookie season.
Fellow freshman Sheldon Townsend also provided a glimpse of his potential for head coach Roosevelt Lofton and the Bucs, placing 13th out of 51 competitors in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.16 seconds.
Kuaniyal Chol was CSU's other competitor at the VertKlasse Meeting, finishing ninth in the 800-meter dash with a time of 1:54.56.
At the Florida Relays, meanwhile, CSU's 4x100-meter relay team of Kaishon Murray, Rozzie Johnson, Alex Phillips and Braxton Drummond finished 20th with a time of 40.79.
CSU returns to action next Friday and Saturday at the Coastal Carolina Invite in Conway, S.C.
