CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Buccaneers men's track and field squad concluded their 2025 regular season at the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
They had distance runners compete on Friday evening and had tremendous showings by the group.
Collin Kleinhen finished in fifth overall and ran a new personal best time of 1:51.40 to hold the 10
th fastest time in school history for the event.
Liam O'Donnell also ran in the 800m and had a time of 1:53.16.
Martin Iriondo and
Zack Wedding competed in the 1500m invite and had times of 3:50.20 and 3:54.03. Iriondo's marked a career best and the tenth fastest in school history while Wedding's is a season best.
Griffin Gillespie had a 9:12.30 in the 3K steeplechase for the ninth-best in program history and third at the meet.
Caleb Kenyon rounded out the group's performance with his personal best of 14:30.48.
The Buccaneers also had people compete in each of the throwing events.
Odin Ferency had a 44.08m in the discus and
Landry Polk had a 55.03 in the javelin.
Michael Calhoun had the team's top marks in the hammer throw and shot put with his 48.90m and 16.92m.
Kasey Brown competed in each as well and had personal bests of 44.93m and 14.59m.
Charleston Southern will now put together their final preparations for the Big South Championships. This year, the meet will be held at UNC Asheville from Monday, May 12 through Wednesday, May 14.
