AUBURN, Ala. - Postgame quotes from CSU Head
Coach Barclay Radebaugh are available after his team's 77-62 loss
to Auburn on Tuesday night.
His overall impression of the game:
"For most of the game it was very competitive and we hung
right in there. I don't think the final score was indicative of the
actual game. I thought we did some really good things, especially
with our poise and offensive execution in the first half."
On what Auburn did to pull away in the second half:
"They played very well in the second half. They really took us out
of our rhythm with their pressure. They're so athletic and
strong."
On the problems the teams had with turnovers:
"It's not just that we turned it over; it's how we turned it
over. Our guards weren't able to handle the pressure, but the good
news is that we won't face a team that athletic again this
year."
On the play of Jamarco Warren:
"Jamarco is really rounding into a complete player. There are
still some things that he can work on, but he is receptive to
improving in those areas. Our whole team is receptive to
improvement. We're very positive heading into conference play."
On the play of Tom Tankelewicz:
"We missed Tom when he was out. When we add Tom to the perimeter
shooting of Jamarco and Jeremy (Sexton), it makes us tough to match
up with. I'm especially proud of the way Tom came back. He didn't
just come back; he came back in good shape. That's a credit to our
athletic trainer, Brad Drake."
On the biggest improvement his team needs to make:
"For several games, we've had a four or five minute stretch where
the game got too hectic. Tonight, we had a little stretch where we
were up three or four points and then we started turning the ball
over. Instead of showing poise and slowing down, we rushed a couple
of shots, which allowed them to get out and run."
