Coach Terrill on Gina Cox: “One thing that we just didn’t really have is a left-footed player on the outside midfield. It’s one of the reasons we didn’t play any outside midfield. Gina Cox has tons of speed and is a great left-footer player. She’s able to get up and down the flank extremely quickly and we’re extremely excited because she fills a role there for us that we haven’t had the last couple of years – a left-footed outside midfielder. She’s going to give us options of playing different ways next year. She was a highly recruited kid in South Carolina – again (we were able to sign her) later on – and we were very fortunate to get her.”
High School: Gina Cox comes to Charleston Southern by way of Irmo, S.C. and Irmo High School where she lined up at left midfielder and forward under Coach Josh Puryear…She also played with the South Carolina United Mount Pleasant Club team under Coach Jason Birchwood…On the pitch, she earned All-Area recognition…Was the recipient of several academic awards.
