HIGH POINT, N.C. – Charleston Southern tallied a trio of All-Conference finishes on Tuesday at the second day of the Big South Championships. They rank third in the team standings with 56 points with nine events scored so far.
The first event held for the men on the day was the shot put. In the event,
Odin Ferency threw a 17.57m to be his best mark of the day and took third overall in the field for the All-Conference finish.
Later in the day, the men's 3K steeplechase was held with the Bucs claiming 19 points from the event.
Mason Raasch was the runner-up and
Caleb Kenyon was third with their times of 9:09.79 and 9:17.32.
Jones Barber and
Jeff Wedding went 6-7 in it with their times of 9:31.10 and 9:48.58.
Aden Price had the fastest time of the runners in the 400m with a 46.56 to cruise to Wednesday's finals.
Laden Beckwith had a personal best of 10.33 to move up to second in school history for the event and ranks first in through the prelims.
In the 800m, there were three Charleston Southern runners that moved on to the finals in the event.
Earlon Baker had a personal best of 1:53.24 while
Collin Kleinhen had a 1:53.63 and
Jackson Lovvorn ran 1:53.81.
Charleston Southern returns to Vert Stadium on Wednesday afternoon for the third and final day of the 2026 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The day begins with the women's high jump and men's discus throw which are slated for a start time of noon. The meet will be available live on ESPN+ beginning at 2 p.m.
