BLACKSBURG, VA – Charleston Southern broke their second school record of the weekend and third of the indoor season at Virginia's Tech Doc Hale Invite on Saturday.
In the women's 4x400m relay, the Buccaneers recorded a school record in the event with a time of 3:41.29. The relay team included
Caroline Aslerin,
Grenisha Thomas,
Brenda du Toit and
Maya Clark. The time ranks as the fourth-fastest in conference history as well.
In the distance medley relay, they had
Freya Buglass,
Barbara de Kock,
Charlize Antia and
Lucy McNamara make up the group. They ended with a time of 12:04.95 for the fourth-fastest time in school history.
In the 200m, Danea Niles and Chloe-Mae Wilks ran in it and had times of 25.79 and 26.46. In the shotput,
Zemaya Carson threw a season best of 14.11m while
Yassine Kamara also had a season-best with a throw of 14.03m. Her mark moves her to fourth in the CSU record books for the event.
Charleston Southern has their final regular season meet next weekend with them traveling to Mill Spring, North Carolina. They will take part in the two-day Tyron Mid-Winter Invitational from Friday, February 13 through Saturday, February 14. Following that, they will have the Big South Championships at the same facility from Friday, February 27 through Saturday, February 28.
