Box Score CHARLESTON – Wednesday night, Charleston Southern suited up for its first game in seven days, a 7:00 P.M. tip-off at Presbyterian. PC would go on to win the midweek contest, 87–83.
In the first half, CSU redshirt-junior Brycen Blaine cracked into double-figure scoring in just 18 minutes, accounting for 11 of the Bucs' 29 points. The post duo of Reis Jones and Lase Olalere each picked up two fouls in the opening 20 minutes. Although the Bucs shot a respectable 41 percent from the floor in the half, Presbyterian proved why it is the most efficient offensive team in Big South Conference play, shooting 54 percent in the first half against CSU and 52 percent in league play.
Consecutive buckets from A'lahn Sumler and Reis Jones brought CSU within seven (40–33), and another Sumler score minutes later cut the deficit to two possessions (54–48). Despite a late push by the Bucs that trimmed the margin to three, the gap never fully closed, as the Blue Hose secured the home-court victory, 87–83.
