CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Monday afternoon, the Big South Conference announced their September 8-14 Volleyball Libero of the Week award winner, Charleston Southern's Presley Morris.
Morris, a junior from Little Rock, Arkansas, is a first time recipient of a Big South honor. CSU's star libero for the 2025 season recorded 63 digs (team high), 5.25 digs per set (team high), a 0.933 reception percentage on 90 attempts (team high), 12 assists, and 3 service aces.
The cornerstone of Charleston Southern's defense this past week, Morris finished first in the Big South in digs per set (5.25) for players playing in three or more matches. That 5.25 per set mark was an entire dig (1.06) margin ahead of second place. Her 19 digs Saturday (Sep. 13) morning against South Carolina State was tied for the most digs in a three-set match by any player in the conference during last week's period. Regardless of the opponent, Morris' consistency was undeniable as she stayed within the 19-23 dig range through all of the Bucs' three matches and two victories. While in Daytona Beach at the 2025 Bash at the Beach this past weekend, Morris also recorded her 400th career dig.
Through 35 sets played so far this season, Morris has 170 digs (4.86 per set), a 0.946 reception percentage on 186 total attempts, 29 assists, and 6 service aces.
When asked about Morris' success this weekend and the impression she has had on the program through the first nine matches, Head Coach Carry Brown expressed immense pride in her star defensive specialist.
"Presley continues to impress me every time she steps on the court. Her relentless drive to push herself and her teammates shines in every match. With an outstanding performance this weekend, recording 63 digs and averaging 5.25 digs per set, she delivered an incredible effort for our team. I am so happy for her that she is getting an award that recognizes that."
