Bailey and Davis Round Out 2024-25 Women’s Basketball Signing Class

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Head Coach Clarisse White and the Charleston Southern women's basketball program continues to grow this year's signing class, as they welcome two guards in Tyonna Bailey and Courtney Davis to the 2024-25 women's basketball team.

"We are beyond blessed to have more additions to our program," said White. Courtney [Davis] and Tyonna [Bailey] round out our recruiting class for this year and are the exact players that we needed to complete our competitive roster. We are grateful for their decision to invest in continuing to build our program here at Charleston Southern.

Bailey comes to Charleston Southern from the northeast, where she played her freshman season at St. John's University. For the Red Storm, she appeared in 15 games and helped St. John's get to an 11-7 conference record and a second-round appearance in the WBIT. A native of Newark, New Jersey, Bailey was a McDonald's All-American nominee at Immaculate Conception, where she averaged 20 points per game and was the No. 4 ranked player in the state of New Jersey.

Coach White on Bailey: "Tyonna is a highly skilled and versatile guard with an exceptional ability to exploit defenses. She can score at will and is the epitome of tenacious both offensively and defensively."

Davis is a native of Warner Robins, GA. She played at Warner Robins High School and led her team to a regional championship. She went on to play her first two seasons of collegiate basketball at Highlands CC in Kansas, where she had 168 career assists, scored over 500 career points and had over 200 rebounds in her career. She spent the 2023-24 season with the Little Rock Trojans.

Coach White on Davis: "Courtney has a strong feel for the game and a savvy knack for putting players in great positions with her court vision. As a capable scorer and distributor, she will add depth and experience to our roster."

Overall, the Buccaneers signed four players from three different states ahead of the 2024-25 season, including three guards and one forward. The Bucs are hopeful that their experience will give them what they need to take another step forward in year four under Clarisse White's direction.
