JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Charleston Southern women's basketball team saw its 2025-26 season come to an end Thursday evening as No. 2 seed Radford defeated the No. 7 Buccaneers 86-67 in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Air Force Reserve Big South Championship.

CSU battled throughout the contest, but Radford used a strong second quarter and efficient shooting to build a lead the Buccaneers could not overcome.

Radford opened the game with early offensive rhythm, building a 24-14 lead after the first 10 minutes. The Highlanders shot 42.9 percent in the period and connected on four three-pointers, while Charleston Southern managed just four field goals. Radford extended its advantage in the second quarter with its most productive stretch of the game. The Highlanders scored 30 points in the period and shot 73.3 percent from the field, stretching the lead to 54-27 at halftime.

Charleston Southern showed signs of life coming out of the break, scoring 20 points in the third quarter.
Tyonna Bailey and
Caelan Ellis helped the Buccaneers find better offensive flow, but Radford maintained a comfortable margin entering the final period. CSU continued to compete down the stretch, matching Radford with 20 fourth-quarter points. The Buccaneers outscored Radford 40-32 in the second half, but the early deficit proved too large as Radford secured the 86-67 victory.
