FARMVILLE, Va. – The Charleston Southern women's basketball team dropped a 96-69 decision at Longwood on Wednesday night inside the Joan Perry Brock Center.

The Buccaneers fell to 8-20 overall and 6-9 in Big South play, while Longwood improved to 19-9 (10-5).

Longwood used a strong first half to create separation, shooting 50 percent in the second quarter and building a 49-38 lead at the break. The Lancers continued to extend the margin in the third, outscoring CSU 25-11 in the period. Charleston Southern continued to compete in the final 10 minutes, scoring 20 points in the frame and shooting 40 percent from the floor. However, Longwood answered with 23 points of its own, going 7-of-15 from the field and 6-of-10 at the free-throw line to maintain control down the stretch.
