CSU Falls to Radford on Saturday Afternoon by a 1-0 Scoreline

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Radford knocked off Charleston Southern by a 1-0 scoreline on Saturday afternoon to remain unblemished in conference play. The Highlanders got the lead off a score from a corner kick in the final minute of the first half to get the win.
 
Radford controlled the match at the beginning of the match, but the tides turned around after about ten minutes of play as the Buccaneers controlled the match for most of the first half. They got three shots off in less than ten minutes that the Highlanders' Lexi Radvanyi. Amy Swain scored the go-ahead goal in the 45th minute to go up before half.
 
In the second, both teams generated opportunities with the crossbar rejecting a shot from Radford that could have doubled their lead. The Highlanders' defense held strong the rest of the way to hold on for the win.
 
Jenna Moran earned the start for the day and collected five saves while playing in all 90 minutes between the posts.
 
Charleston Southern will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Winthrop and face the Eagles with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff.
