FARMVILLE, VA -
Sydney Thomas' goal was enough to give the Charleston Southern women's soccer team their first Big South victory of the 2023 season, defeating the Longwood Lancers on the road by a 1-0 score.
Thomas played in all 90 minutes for the Bucs (6-2-2, 1-0 in conference), scoring a goal with seven minutes to go in the first half. Charleston Southern put up just three shots compared to 13 for Longwood (2-6-2, 0-1 in conference).
Jenna Moran had six saves on fhe afternoon, stopping all of the Lancer's shots on goal. The Bucs had three shots on goal.
Lauren McDonald and
Claire DeAngelis both had shots on goal as well.
