HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Charleston Southern women's soccer team dropped their second conference match of the season on Saturday, falling to the High Point Panthers on the road by a 3-1 score.
The Panthers (5-4-6, 2-2-1 in conference) took a 2-0 lead into the half, jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the 26
th minute with a penalty kick. The Bucs (7-4-3, 2-2-1 in conference) attempted just one shot in the first half compared to 12 for the Panthers on the other end.
Charleston Southern was able to cut the deficit to 2-1 midway through the second half, as
Dakota Fiedler scored her second goal of the season; however, High Point was able to put the match away with a goal in the 82
nd minute.
The Panthers attempted 20 shots on the evening, which is tied for the most that the Bucs have surrendered all season. There 10 shots on goal were tied for the second most that the Bucs had given up in the 2023 campaign.
The Bucs had four shots on goal from Fiedler,
Kayla Reese,
Sydney Thomas and
Fiama Hidalgo. On the defensive end,
Jenna Moran had seven saves in the goal with a percentage of .700.
