Bucs Fall at Radford in Key Big South Match

RADFORD, VA. – Charleston Southern fell behind in the opening minutes and was unable to respond in a 5-0 loss to Radford in a Big South game Saturday night.

The loss puts a dent in the Bucs' hopes for a berth in the conference tournament. CSU still has 10 points and dropped into a tie for fifth with High Point, which has played one fewer game than the Bucs.

CSU has regular season games remaining at home against Longwood next Saturday and at Winthrop on October 26. The Bucs will likely need to win both games to have a chance at making the four-team playoffs.

Kat Parris scored two goals, and Katie Oliver had a goal and two assists to lead the Highlanders to the victory. Radford led in shots by only a 16-13 margin but limited CSU to just two shots on goal by Jenea Knight and Dakota Fiedler.

Sara Curtis had six saves for CSU, and Jordan Phillips made two stops for Radford, which is tied for third in the Big South with Gardner-Webb with 13 points.
