CLINTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern volleyball fell Thursday night in the opener of a two-game series to Presbyterian 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-17) in Big South play from the Templeton Center.
Peyton Thompson paced the Bucs (8-5, 8-5 Big South) with a game-high 17 kills but Presbyterian (3-12, 3-12 Big South) used nine blocks to keep the rest of the CSU attack in check.
Erin Cooke and Allie Wright led the Blue Hose with eight and seven kills while Kaleigh Ammons had a career-best seven for the Bucs and
Indigo Young added five with two solo blocks.
Ashleigh Holweger had a season-best 29 assists adding 12 digs and two service aces and
Layla Sarvis had a season-best 18 digs on the backline.
Thursday's loss made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Hose inside the Templeton Center over the Bucs as the two teams have split the last four meetings.
