CHARLESTON, S.C. – Emma Ryan scored the game-winning goal for Charleston Southern in the 86th minute Wednesday afternoon, helping the Bucs defeat Gardner-Webb, 1-0, at the CSU Soccer Field.

Bri Robinson cross into the top of the net for her third goal of the season and second in the last three matches.
Jenna Moran made seven saves for her third consecutive clean sheet.
CSU wasted no time putting pressure on the Gardner-Webb defense, as
Jenea Knight forced a save from close range inside the opening minute of the contest. The Bucs had three shots and three corner kicks inside the first three minutes of the match. CSU had 13 shots and five corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes, but Gardner-Webb stood tall and kept the Bucs off the scoreboard.
Gardner-Webb started the second half on the front foot, taking three corners in the first 10 minutes before the Bucs settled in. Marina Bradic had the best chance for the Runnin' Bulldogs off a free kick just outside the 18-yard box, but her shot was right at Moran.
With the clock winding down, Robinson made a run down the right-hand flank and crossed the ball to Ryan, who first-timed a shot past GWU goalkeeper Katelyn Kellogg for the lone goal of the match. GWU put a pair of shots on target in the closing minutes, but Moran easily saved both to give the Bucs their third straight win and third consecutive clean sheet.
