FARMVILLE, VA. –
Jazmin Gonzalez made seven saves, including a pair from close range late in regulation, to help Charleston Southern preserve a 0-0 tie at Longwood in a Big South contest on Saturday.
The Buccaneers have tied both of their conference road games this season and are 3-5-2 overall and 0-1-2 in the Big South. The Lancers are 3-5-1 and 1-1-1 in league play.
How It Happened
•   CSU had two solid scoring opportunities two minutes apart midway through the first half.
•   In the 21st minute the Bucs made a nice run up the right side, but a header by
Zari Hayes went just left.

Dakota Fiedler then rifled a shot toward the lower left portion of the goal but was denied by Lancer keeper Madison Van Dyke.
•   It stayed scoreless throughout the second half with Gonzalez playing a large role in keeping Longwood off the board.
•   In the 75th minute her quick reflexes denied a shot from in front of the goal, and she added a diving save in the 83rd minute to send it to overtime.
•   Fiedler,
Grace Gompers and
Kayla Reese had good chances in the first extra period, and Emily Motherspaugh was wide left with five minutes left in the second OT session for the Lancers.
Inside the Numbers
•   Longwood took 30 shots but only seven were on goal and Gonzalez stopped them all.
•   Fiedler had a team-leading five of CSU's 18 shots, followed by
Kylie Doster with three and Hayes, Reese, Gompers and
Mason Pinkerton with two.
•   Van Dyke made four saves for the Lancers.
News and Notes
•   CSU has gone to overtime in all three of its Big South games. The Bucs drew on the road at High Point, 2-2, and dropped a 2-1 home decision to Presbyterian.
•   The Bucs also went to overtime in their first three conference games last year, going 1-1-1 against Presbyterian, Longwood and USC Upstate.
•   Saturday's game marked the first scoreless draw for CSU since a 0-0 game at Presbyterian on October 1, 2014.
•   The clean sheet was the second this season and seventh in Gonzalez's career.
•   Gonzalez moved into a tie for ninth in school history with Amy Arroyo with 139 career saves. Next on the list is Liz-Amanda Brown with 151.
