CSU drops Big South contest at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Alexa Genas scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Campbell to a 3-0 win over Charleston Southern in a Big South contest on Wednesday night. 

The Bucs dropped to 3-8-2 overall and 0-4-2 in the Big South. The Camels are 8-3-1 and 4-1-1 in the league.

How It Happened
•    The game was scoreless until the 29th minute when a foul in the box gave the Camels a penalty kick which Genas converted.
•    Jazmin Gonzalez was solid in goal during the first half and opening stages of the second before Campbell scored twice in a span of five minutes.
•    In the 61st minute, Rosie O'Neal took a pass in the middle of the box and put the 1v1 shot past Gonzalez. Genas and Jessica Donald were credited with assists.
•    Genas rounded out the scoring in the 66th minute with a sliding shot that she put in the top left, assisted by Emma Bushee.

Stats Summary
•    Campbell led in shots 23-9 including 10-4 in shots on goal.
•    Dakota Fiedler led CSU with three shots and two were on target. Bri Robinson and Zari Hayes both had two shots.
•    Gonzalez finished with seven saves, and Natalya Marcove made four stops for the Camels.
•    The Bucs did produce eight corner kicks, all coming in the first half.
