ASHEVILLE, N.C. –
Bri Robinson scored the second of three Charleston Southern goals in a span of 14 minutes in the second half, giving the Buccaneers the lead for good in a 4-2 victory over UNC Asheville in a Big South game on Saturday.
CSU (4-8-2, 1-4-2 Big South) began the final two weeks of the regular season with a much-needed win that put them in the hunt for a berth in the conference playoffs. The Bulldogs saw their two-game winning streak snapped and fell to 4-10-0 (2-4-0 Big South).
How It Happened
•   Despite the final total of six goals, the game started out as a defensive battle with neither team scoring for most of the first half.
•   UNC Asheville broke through in the 36th minute on a goal by Courtney McCluskey, assisted by Alice Walker.
•   With only seven seconds on the clock,
Kylie Doster hit the upper left corner of the net to tie it up and give her the team lead in goals with four.
Kayla Reese assisted on the tally.
•   The Bulldogs went back in front in the 52nd minute when Barrett Eidson scored off a pass from Olivia Lenderman.
•   The Bucs then started their offensive surge which ultimately resulted in a season-high four goals.

Zari Hayes matched Doster for the team lead in goals with four when she scored in the 56th minute, assisted by Dakota Fielder, her third helper of the year.
•   Just 93 seconds later, Robinson scored the first goal of her freshman season, putting a ball in the lower left portion to give CSU a 3-2 lead.
•   Robinson then came up with her team-best fifth assist in the 69th minute when her deflected shot went right to
Kat Klingensmith, who finished for the second time on the year.
Inside the Numbers
•   The Bucs matched their season high with 24 shots and established a new season best with 14 shots on goal.
•   Fiedler and Reese paced CSU with five shots each, with four of Fiedler's being on target.
•   Doster, Robinson and Klingensmith each had four shots, with three of Klingensmith's being on target.

Jazmin Gonzalez made five saves, and Bryson Lee had nine stops for UNC Asheville.
News and Notes
•   The four goals were a season high for CSU. The Bucs had three goals in a game on three occasions.
•   It was the first four-goal game for the Bucs since defeating The Citadel, 4-0, on September 9, 2016.
•   CSU tallied four goals in a Big South game for the first time since downing Gardner-Webb, 4-1, on September 20, 2012.
•   The Bucs scored three goals in a half for the second time this season. They put in three in the second half of a 3-0 victory over Wofford on September 25.
•   The Bucs have won four in a row over UNC Asheville and are 11-2-1 against the Bulldogs over the past 14 meetings.
