CHARLESTON, S.C. – Gardner-Webb scored an unusual goal with just over 11 minutes remaining in the game to claim a 1-0 victory over Charleston Southern on Saturday at the CSU Soccer Field.
The Buccaneers dropped to 3-7-2 and 0-3-2 in the Big South while the Runnin' Bulldogs improved to 4-8-1 and 3-1 in conference play.
How It Happened
•   The first half was scoreless with Gardner-Webb taking eight shots to five for the Bucs.
•   Despite having a decided shot advantage in the second half, the Runnin' Bulldogs were unable to break through thanks to a solid effort in goal by
Jazmin Gonzalez.
•   In the 79th minute, however, Stina Kleppe took a corner that somehow tucked into the upper left portion of the goal for her eighth tally of the season.
Inside the Numbers
•   Gardner-Webb finished with 17 shots to six for CSU and led in shots on goal, 8-2.

Bri Robinson led the Bucs with three shots.
•   Gonzalez had seven saves, and Paula Suarez had two for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
•   Gardner-Webb also produced 10 corner kicks.

•   Gonzalez increased her career save total to 152 to move past Liz-Amanda Brown for eighth in school history. Next up is Molly Shawcross with 174.
