CLINTON, S.C. - Addison Kaderli and Charleston Southern volleyball opened Big South Conference play with 3-1 win over Presbyterian on Tuesday night in the Templeton Center as the Buccaneers topped the Blue Hose 27-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-16.

Kaderli led the way for CSU (6-11, 1-0) with 17 kills and 16 digs as the Bucs hit .190 as a team from the floor in the Big South opener for both teams. It was the first time CSU volleyball won its conference opener since the 2009 season when the Bucs topped the Blue Hose at home in straight sets.

Hannah Western added nine kills and six digs from the floor as the Bucs rallied from a first set deficit while taking control early in both the third and fourth set wins. Rachel Smith set up the CSU offense with 33 assists and added 11 digs. Madison Martin (11) and Taylor Allman (10) were also in double-digits in the digs category. Caitlyn Michalski, Kaderli, and Connor Malone all finished with three blocks apiece.

Sierra Davis led the Blue Hose (2-12, 0-1) with 18 kills and three blocks in the losing effort. Erin Eulitz added 15 kills, while Ashton Stewart finished with nine kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Sara Rogers set up the offense with 46 assists. Mikayla Register led PC's defense with 22 digs.

Charleston Southern remains on the road as the Buccaneers conclude their season-opening road trip on Saturday afternoon in Boiling Springs, N.C. against Gardner-Webb. First serve in Paul Porter Arena is set for 2 p.m.
