came up huge for the Charleston Southern women's tennis team on
Saturday afternoon, clinching the Buccaneers victory with a

defeated the Terriers at the Reeves Tennis Center, 4-3.
Das fell in the first set to Schermerhorn, 6-2, but rallied back
to even the match with a 7-5 win in the second set. With all other

Charleston Southern improves to 6-4 overall on the season, while
Wofford falls to 5-6 overall.

short as Charleston Southern won the day's final match-up to secure
the win.
In doubles action, the Buccaneers claimed an early advantage
after Alexandra Walters and Yvonne Hubler defeated Wofford's Sarah
Evans and Othilia Lindqvist 8-4 at the No. 1 position. The Terriers
evened the score when Julia Paulson and Lucy Schermerhorn topped
Marketa Placha and Susita Das 8-3 in the No. 2 spot.
However, Charleston Southern won the doubles point after Alia
Nour and Chanel Bell edged past Emily Przystawski and Mareli
Sanchez 8-5 at No. 3.

3-0 when Hubler beat Wofford's Audrey Coventry in straight sets
(6-0, 6-3) at the No. 2 position, and Nour defeated Sanchez in a
very tight match (7-5, 6-4) in the No. 4 spot.
However, the Terriers did not give up and won the next three
singles matches to tie the score at 3-all.
First win in the comeback came on court no. 6. After dropping
the first set and falling behind in the second Przystawski came
from behind to defeat Bell (2-6, 7-5, 6-1) to start the tide.
Paulson followed, defeating Walters in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) in
the No. 3 spot. Evans completed the comeback, beating Placha in
straight sets (6-4, 6-2) at the No. 1 position, setting up the
showdown on court no. 5 between Das and Schermerhorn.
Charleston Southern is back in action next week as the
Buccaneers return home to the Buccaneer Tennis Complex to host
Maryland-Baltimore County on Wednesday, March 20th, with first
serve in doubles play scheduled for 2 p.m. CSU remains at home over
