CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern softball announced the signing of Camryn Martin to the Buccaneers squad ahead of the 2026 season on Friday afternoon. Martin will be arriving in the Lowcountry after spending her first two seasons at the University of North Carolina.
After her signing, Head Coach
Christi Musser said "I have seen Camryn play for several years now back to when she was teammates with two of our current players;
Linley Jones and
Blakley Kingsmore. I love that they are reuniting in a Buc uniform. Cam will give us much needed power from the plate and depth at the first base position. I couldn't be more excited that she found a home here at CSU and know she is going to be an impact player for the Bucs."
Martin redshirted her freshman season and made her Tarheels debut this past spring. She joins the Buccaneers with three seasons of eligibility remaining and will slide into the first base depth chart. In the 2025 season, North Carolina finished the year with a 40-17 record and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, getting placed in the Knoxville Regional.
She is originally from Wadesboro, North Carolina where she attended Anson High School. Martin was a three-time All-State, All-District and All-Conference selection and split time playing first and third base. In 2022, she was named the 2A District 6 Player of the Year. Additionally, she was a four-year starter for Anson's volleyball team where she was named team MVP after her senior season and collected All-Conference honors following her junior and senior seasons.
She was just as successful in the classroom, graduating in the top 5% of her class as well as was a member of the National Honor Society. Additionally, she received her Associates of Arts from South Piedmont Community College.
