CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern Softball announced the hiring of Dariana Orme to be the program's new pitching coach. Orme will join the Buccaneers after an extensive, highly decorated playing career in the Mountain West and Big 12 Conferences.

Christi Musser. "She has tremendous knowledge and experience that is going to be invaluable to our pitching staff and to the team. She is a perfect fit for the mission of Charleston Southern and the culture of our program. I am very excited to work with Dariana this coming season and very excited for the coming season."

She spent the first three seasons of her playing career at Fresno State and then the next four at Baylor. She threw the program's first-ever seven-inning perfect game against Stephan F. Austin on February 17, 2023, and a no-hitter against #21 Maryland on February 24, 2023. Throughout her career, she collected over 400 innings of work, 300 strikeouts along with 28 shutouts and 11 complete games.
Orme received a long list of accolades during her playing career which included an NFCA National Pitcher of the Week on February 21, 2023, when she threw a perfect game and helped defeat #1 Oklahoma. Additionally in 2023, she was named NFCA All-Region First Team along with All-Big 12 Second Team and a three-time conference player of the week winner. In 2022, she was named All-Big 12 Second Team again as well as NFCA All-Region Second Team. Heading into the 2024 season, she was named to USA Softball's Preseason Top 50 Player of the Year Watch List.
Outside of her playing career, she has collected four years of coaching experience in competitive/select softball. Most recently, she worked as the assistant coach for Swarm 16U in Waco, Texas in 2024. Additionally, she has served as an assistant coach for Sorcerers Gold 18U in Stockton, California in 2023 and Hooks 16U in Waco, Texas.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication and Sociology from Baylor and has an anticipated finish to her Master's of Arts in Theology of Sport in December of 2025.
