Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern Buccaneer softball team defeated SoCon Preseason favorite Chattanooga to finish unbeaten in the Holy City Showdown.

BOTTOM OF THE SECOND 

• Mallory Kasinger picked up the first hit of the game for both teams with a rip through the left side.
• Anderson pinch ran and was advanced on a sacrifice bunt from Summer Moore. Both runners moved up a base after Chattanooga committed a throwing error.
• Ashlyn Cribb picked up her first double of the year with a ball that was driven over the right fielder to give the Bucs a one-run lead.

 BOTTOM OF THE THIRD

• Sarah Brown singled to center field and stole second.
• Kasinger hit a single to the shortstop to move Brown to third before Chattanooga committed a throwing error to plate Brown.

TOP OF THE FIFTH

• Chattanooga led off with a double to left with no outs.
• Annah Junge battled back to strikeout a pair to end the threat.

TOP OF THE SIXTH

• Chattanooga loaded the bases with two outs and Junge struck out the tying run on a 3-2 count. 

BOTTOM OF THE SIXTH

• Brown led things off with a single to right field before stealing second.
• Kasinger followed that up with a base knock to shallow right where she'd advance on the throw to pick off Brown at home.
• Cribb moved Kasinger to third with a single through the left side but the Bucs couldn't bring anyone across.

Annah Junge went the distance and improved to 5-2 on the year.
