Jackson Dempsey joined Charleston Southern in July of 2026 as the athletic trainer for the Buccaneers' volleyball program.
Prior to returning to CSU, Dempsey served as an assistant athletic trainer at Lander University, where he worked with the baseball, men's wrestling, and men's rugby programs.
Before joining Lander, Dempsey completed the Master of Athletic Training program at CSU, gaining clinical experience with several programs including Penn State baseball, Charleston Southern volleyball and football, Hanahan High School, and Roper St. Francis.
Dempsey earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Anderson University in 2022 before completing his Master of Athletic Training at Charleston Southern University in 2025. He is a Board of Certification (BOC) certified athletic trainer and a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
In October of 2025, Dempsey married fellow CSU graduate, Dr. Sydney Thompson.
