Qon Murphy joined CSU in June of 2024 as a Graduate Assistant for the men's basketball program.
Murphy came to CSU following the conclusion of his playing career where he spent time at Houston Christian University and the University of New Hampshire. Later, Murphy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, continuing to expand his understanding of the game.
In 2023, Murphy began transitioning into coaching, taking on the role of Assistant Coach for the Junior Celtics Basketball program. There he began to refine his coaching style, helping young athletes develop their skills while simultaneously expanding his knowledge of the intricacies of player development. He also served as the Director of Player Development and Assistant Coach at Star Athletes Academy in Leesburg, Florida where he contributed to their success in winning the PHSBA 2023-2024 State Championship. His approach focuses on individual growth, skill-building, and preparing players for higher levels of competition, all while continuing his own education in the latest methods of player development.
