Michael Ervin

Michael Ervin joined Charleston Southern in May of 2024 as a Graduate Assistant and was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations/Assistant Coach later that same off-season, in August. Before coming to CSU, Michael was an assistant coach for the Lenoir-Rhyne men's basketball team under head coach Everick Sullivan. At Lenoir-Rhyne, Ervin oversaw the offense, player development, and daily operations, contributing to the team's winning record during the season.

Before joining Lenoir-Rhyne, Ervin was an assistant coach at Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC), where he played a crucial role in helping the team achieve a 20-12 record. His responsibilities included overseeing the offense, recruiting, weight room workouts as well as general daily operations.

Ervin was a student manager at Appalachian State University during the 2021-22 season. This season saw the Mountaineers post an eye-popping 19-5 record. He assisted with the program's daily operations, practices, game setups, and skill development.

From 2019 to 2021, Ervin was an assistant varsity coach at Freedom High School in North Carolina. During the 2019-2020 season he helped lead the team to a remarkable 29-1 record and a State Championship. His work focused on defense strategy, player development, and strength training.

Ervin graduated from Appalachian State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education, specializing in Sports Science and Coaching.
