High School: Sells comes to Charleston, S.C. by way of Greenville, N.C. and J.H. Rose HighSchool where she played under Coach Tim Dameron. She is also an alumni of the Pitt Greenville Soccer Association club team where she played under Coach Darren Dawson.
Among her career accolades include traveling with the North Carolina ODP from 2009-2010 in the USYS Region III and ODP Camp, and she was a 2010 alternate. A two-time captain and three-time All-Conference selection, Sells enters the 2013 season having scored 47 career goals and 14 assists. She is also a three-time MVP selection and earned Player of the Year honors in both her freshman and junior seasons. In her sophomore year, she was named to the N.C. Powerade High School State East Team after a season in which she scored 17 goals and added six assists.
