CHARLESTON - The Charleston Southern women's soccer team battled for 90 minutes Sunday afternoon, but Furman scored once in the first half and twice after the break to defeat the Buccaneers, 3-0, at CSU Soccer Field.

Prior to the match, seniors Delaney Evers, Claire DeAngelis, Gianna Simon, and Kelly Gende were all honored for their outstanding achievements on and off the field during their time as Buccaneers.

The Paladins took an early lead when Maddie Massie converted a pass from Katie Villiger in the third minute. Charleston Southern answered with pressure of its own, recording five shots and three corner kicks in the opening half, but Furman carried its 1-0 advantage into halftime.

Furman doubled its lead in the 56th minute when Norah Roller scored off assists from Massie and Riley O'Bryan. The Paladins added a third goal in the 87th minute, as O'Bryan found the back of the net off a pass from Roller to cap the scoring.

CSU finished with 10 shots on the afternoon, including four on target, while earning seven corner kicks. Hailey Swenson led the Buccaneers with two shots, while eight other Bucs recorded one shot.
