CHARLESTON – On Wednesday, Charleston Southern competed in another Big South Conference matchup, this time against Presbyterian College. CSU defeated the Blue Hose in dominant fashion, 6-1.

After a competitive start in doubles play, the Buccaneers quickly took control of the match in singles, showcasing depth and consistency across the lineup.

In doubles action, the pairing of Marina Skegro and Carlota Farres Carreter gave Charleston Southern an early boost with a convincing 6-1 win. However, Presbyterian answered in the next two matches, as Grace Katzman and Mary Ellen Longmire defeated Brenda Yoris and Camila Molina Barranco, followed by Ladina Bruhin and Roxana Valdes edging out the Botha sisters, Carle and Amike in a tight 7-5 contest to claim the doubles point.

Undeterred, Charleston Southern responded emphatically in singles play. Amike Botha was first off the court, setting the tone with a strong 6-1, 6-4 victory. Farres followed with a dominant 6-1, 6-3 win, while Skegro extended the Buccaneers' momentum with a 6-4, 6-2 decision. Molina continued the surge, earning a 6-3, 6-4 victory to clinch the match for Charleston Southern. Carle Botha added another point with a 6-4, 6-1 win, and Brenda Yoris capped off the sweep with a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 victory to close out the day. 

Charleston Southern's ability to bounce back after doubles and take full control in singles highlighted the team's resilience and depth as the season continues on.
