CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charleston Southern midfielder Rowyn Serne was named Big South Co-Freshman of the Week with Radford's Ryane Devlin for matches played Sept. 22-28, the conference announced today.
This is the first Big South weekly honor of Serne's career and the fifth weekly award claimed by a Buccaneer during the month of September (Avery Mason 9/2, Jenéa Knight and Hailey Swenson 9/15, Avery Mason 9/22).
Serne assisted on the game-winning goal in Charleston Southern's 1-0 victory over Winthrop. The freshman set up Jenéa Knight with a perfect corner kick in the 56th minute for the match's lone score, helping the Buccaneers open conference play with back-to-back wins. She added one shot on goal in 65 minutes of action.
