CSU Adds Four Members to 2025 Roster on National Signing Day

CHARLESTON, S.C. – As part of National Signing Day, Charleston Southern Men's Basketball announced the addition of its four newest members: Brycen Blaine (Gulf Coast State), Armari Carraway (East Arizona), Jaquias Franklin (Georgetown College), and Easton Hupp (Liberty Christian School).

"Our staff has continued to do a great job evaluating and identifying kids that fit our program and university's culture. We are very excited to add these young men and have very high expections for them," said Head Coach Saah Nimley.

Brycen Blaine | Guard | 6'4" | Richmond, VA | Gulf Coast State

As a sophomore at Gulf Coast State College in Florida, Blaine scored 235 points (10.7 per game). His season-high was scored on November 26th against Daytona State where Blaine scored 18 points and tallied 6 rebounds.

Before his year at Gulf Coast State, Blaine played for the James Madison Dukes in the Sun Belt Conference. In his freshman season, he appeared in nine games, and scored in all but two of his appearances, shooting an efficient 47.6% from the field on the year. In year two, Blaine did not play due to injury, but was a resident on the school's 2024 Dean's List and was a two-time member of the JMU Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete list.

"It's a blessing to add Brycen to our program. He is a big guard with great ball skills. He can make plays for himself and others while also being able to make shots himself. He takes pride on the defensive end and that is going to help him fit in well with us," said Head Coach Saah Nimley.

Armari "Scoot" Carraway | Guard | 6'0" | Fresno, CA | Eastern Arizona

In his two seasons at East Arizona, Carraway scored 639 points, dished out 182 assists, and hauled in 170 rebounds. Carraway was the starting point guard on an East Arizona team that won the 2024-25 NJCAA Division 1 Region 1 Championship and a 29-4 season record. On February 1st, against the College of Southern Nevada, Carraway scored a season-high 30 points as the Monsters took home a 13-point (96-83) victory, shooting 7/11 from the floor, 6/9 from three, an impressive 10/10 from the foul-line, and nearly securing the double-double with 9 rebounds. Carraway was also named to the All-Conference First Team after averaging 14.0 points, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest during his sophomore campaign.

Carraway attended San Joaquin Memorial High School in Northern California where in 2022-23 he led the program to its first ever state championship and a 26-9 overall record. Carraway also entered the 1,000-point club during his high school tenure.

"We are very excited to add Scoot to our basketball family. Scoot is just a flat out winner. He has won everywhere he has been regardless of the level. He is a high-level shot maker that is also bought in to doing the little things it takes to help his team win. We are looking forward to him bringing his winning ways to our program," said Head Coach Saah Nimley.

Jaquias Franklin | Guard | 6'1" | Elizabethtown, KY | Georgetown College

During his lone season at Georgetown College, Franklin led the team in scoring as he tallied 476 points, shooting 43.9% from the field, 37.1% from three, and 81.9% from the free-throw line. He also led the team in assists, dishing out 108 dimes on the year. Franklin scored 20+ points six times during his senior campaign with the Tigers, including two 30+ point performances (37 at Cumberland and 32 vs Saint Francis).

Franklin spent his junior year at Lenoir-Rhyne where he scored 274 points. Franklin's best performance during his single season with the Bears' program was against Coker, when he poured in 27 points, shooting 9/13 from the floor.

As a collegiate underclassman, Franklin played at Southwestern Illinois where he scored 440 points and ranked top-50 (47th) in all of junior college basketball with 137 assists his sophomore season.

"We are thrilled to add Jaquias to our program. Jaquias has proven himself as an efficient scorer and facilitator at the collegiate level. He is very sound with the ball in his hands but also has a knack for getting himself open without the ball and making plays. We can't wait for him to get here," said Head Coach Saah Nimley.

Easton Hupp | Guard | 6'4" | Argyle, TX | Liberty Christian School

As a senior at Liberty Christian, Hupp scored 892 points, grabbed 137 rebounds, and recorded 95 assists. Averaging 24.8 points per contest, Hupp led the team in scoring as well as shooting 43% from beyond the three-point line.

"We are very excited to add Easton to our program and university. Easton has scored the ball at a high clip in high school and has a high ceiling for development in our program. We are looking forward to getting him here and working with him," said Head Coach Saah Nimley.
