CHARLESTON – Florida State traveled up to the Holy City on Saturday to face off with Charleston Southern, taking the road win by a 6-1 scoreline.
Marina Skegro highlighted the team's day by claiming a win over her ACC opponent in singles.
In doubles, the Seminoles were able to clinch the point, claiming the wins on courts #2 and #3. However, the Buccaneers did not go down quietly as in the topflight match,
Noa Boyd and
Amila Jusufbegovic defeated the visiting duo of Millie Bissett and Laura Putz by a commanding 6-1 scoreline.
In singles play, Charleston Southern hung tough with Florida State all afternoon, pushing three of the matches to a third set against the Power Conference foes. Skegro claimed the result in hers by a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 final score on court #3 for the Bucs' lone point of the day.
Emmie Moore (court #1) and
Kassandra Di Staulo (court #6) were the others to take a set in their matches but fell in three.
The Buccaneers have a quick turnaround as they will take travel to Conway tomorrow morning to take on Coastal Carolina with a first serve scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
