Women's Tennis Defeated by Coastal Carolina on Sunday

Box Score CONWAY, S.C. – Charleston Southern fell at Coastal Carolina on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 4-1. The loss drops the Bucs to 4-4 on the year, losing each of their matches this weekend with the other decision to Florida State.
 
The Chanticleers claimed the doubles point to start the day, winning each of the three courts. They won the topflight and #3 court to seal it and then went to a tiebreaker on the #2 court for the Chants to also take.
 
Coastal was able to bump their lead to 2-0 with straight set decision on court #5. Marina Skegro was able to collect the Bucs' lone point of the day with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at #2. The Chanticleers went on to be victorious in #4 and #1 positions to seal the team victory 4-1. The match at #3 was unfinished halfway through the third set while the #6 match had just completed the second set.
 
Charleston Southern will be back in action on Wednesday as they host North Florida in a rescheduled match from earlier this spring. The first serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center. This will kickoff a stretch of seven consecutive home matches for the Bucs with the latter six to be played within an eight-day stretch.
