LEXINGTON – Charleston Southern's Women's Track and Field season came to an end on Thursday in the NCAA East Regionals First Round.
Layla Senter had the top performance of the day for the Buccaneers as she took 35
th in the shot put. Her best throw was a 14.92m (48' 11.5") which put her 7
th in the first flight.
In the 400m,
Amaya Johnson ran a time of 54.58 to take 43
rd overall in the field of some of the nation's best. She raced in the second heat of the day and took 7
th overall in it. She beat out a fellow Big South competitor, Dae'Nitra Hester of High Point, who tied for 44
th.
In the women's javelin,
Chloe Greene did not record a mark in the event, recording a foul on each of her three attempts on the day.
The meet ends the 2024 season for the Buccaneers. They saw nine school records get broken this year, including all four in the outdoor throwing events.
