Maeva Tahou was selected as the Big South Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. This becomes her third time claiming the award so far in the spring outdoor season.
This weekend, she competed at the Florida Relays and set new personal bests in the 100m hurdles and triple jump. In the prelims of the 100m hurdles, she ran a personal best time of 13.42 and then went for an even faster 13.35 in the finals. These times moved her up to second in school history and fifth in league history for the event. In the triple jump, she improved her career best and school record in the event by over a full foot with a mark of 13.11m (43' 0.25") and slides into third in conference history for it. She also ran a leg of the 4x100m relay with the relay squad having a time of 45.17 is the third-best in program history and sixth in Big South history.
Charleston Southern is back on the road next weekend for the Duke Invitational. The meet will be held from Thursday, April 9 through Saturday, April 11.
