CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern fell to #56 Purdue on Friday afternoon by a final score of 4-0. The Buccaneers fell to 6-5 on the year and took their first home loss in the match.
The Boilermakers started the day by taking the point in doubles. Purdue won on courts #2 and #3 to get the point, but Charleston Southern took the victory in the topflight.

Noa Boyd won by a final score of 6-4 in it.
In singles, Purdue's top players got off to a fast start, claiming decision by straight sets on each of the first two courts. This pushed their advantage to a quick 3-0 edge.
Each of the other four matches went to a third set. Purdue was able to get their fourth point at the #5 court by a final score of 6-3, 0-6, 6-3 to get the victory. Each of the other three matches were called and deemed unfinished with all of them underway in the deciding third set.
Charleston Southern will have a quick break before their next match as it is tomorrow against Murray State. The first serve against the Racers is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at CSU at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center with the team looking to enter next week's conference opening action in winning fashion.
