CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Preseason All-Big South First Team member,
Taje' Kelly has proven the voters right once again as he receives his second conference player of the week award.
Kelly left little doubt over the previous seven days as to who would win the conference award. In the Bucs' two contests against North Alabama and Georgia, Kelly posted a combined 63 points (31.5), 24 rebounds (12.0), and shot 46% from downtown (6/13).
Coming into the week, Kelly's career-high in the scoring column was 26. He blew that individual record out of the water this week when he poured in 34 points at North Alabama, then returning home to Georgia where he scored an additional 29. Kelly also picked up two more double-doubles against the Lions and Bulldogs as he now has five on the season.
Going into the Christmas holiday with another award under his belt, the senior from Atlanta, Georgia had nothing but gratitude to express when asked what another league player of the week award means to him,
"I am truly blessed and honored to receive my second Big South Player of the Week honor. I am super thankful to play the sport that I love and represent Charleston Southern while doing it."
Kelly and CSU will be back in action on Dec. 28 when they host the Rams of Columbia International University.
