CHARLOTTE – Charleston Southern continued to take home even more of the Big South's weekly awards for cross country on Wednesday afternoon as they swept the awards.
Zack Wedding was selected as the runner of the week with
Martin Iriondo being named the Freshman of the Week.
Wedding was the top finisher for the Buccaneers this past Friday at the ECU Pirate Invitational. He recorded a personal best time of 24:25.3 in the 8K to place 15
th overall in the field.
Iriondo made his debut in an 8K on Friday and placed 30
th overall in the field. He was the 4
th finisher for Charleston Southern at the race to help contribute to the team's score total. He ended the race with a time of 24:42.8.
These awards mark the second time that the Buccaneers have swept an edition of the awards on the men's side this year. Following the season opener,
Caleb Kenyon earned Runner of the Week while
Lin Scott was selected as the Freshman of the Week.
They are going to be back in action next weekend at the Arturo Barrios Invitational. The race will be held by Texas A&M in College Station, Texas on Friday, October 18.
